Does Winder work with full-frame 35mm scans?

Yes — import them and keep a single frame at review (or let detection notice there's no divider). But Winder's soul is half-frame: the splitter, the diptych, the whole reason it exists.

My lab's scans are a different size. Will detection still work?

Detection is proportional, so most sizes just work. If your scans differ from the 3130 × 2075 default, set the real size in Settings → Film & scanning so the fallback cut and bar width stay accurate.

What formats can I import?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP and most TIFFs. Frames are saved as JPEG, at one of two quality presets you choose in Settings.

Where exactly are my photos?

In a folder you can open in any file manager. iOS: the app's Documents folder, visible in the Files app, or anywhere you point it. macOS: anywhere you choose. See The library format.

Do I have to put every frame on a roll?

No. Import never creates a roll behind your back. Leave the destination unset and the frames land loose at the top of your library — still imported, still in the Library tab, and you can drag them onto a roll whenever you like.

Is there an account? A cloud?

No and no. Winder is local-first. Sync happens through your storage — iCloud Drive, Dropbox, WebDAV — not ours. Pro is a one-time store purchase, with no subscription and no sign-up.

What does Pro add?

Auto-straighten, unlimited rolls (free keeps 2) and albums (free keeps 3), all six share-frame styles, and alternate app icons. Splitting itself is free forever, and importing is never metered.

Can I get my data out?

You never have to "get it out" — it was never in. Copy the library folder and you have everything: photographs as JPEGs with real EXIF, metadata as readable JSON.

Deleted something by mistake?

Look in the .trash folder inside your library. Winder moves deletions there instead of erasing them. Deleting an album is the one exception — an album owns no files, so removing it only takes a label off the frames that wore it.
